[Source] It is the whole herb or root of Chickweed, a plant of the Caryophyllaceae family . Harvest in summer and autumn.

[Original form] Perennial herb. The root is thick and long, cylindrical. The stem is erect, about 1 meter high, soft, covered with short hairs, with obvious nodes, and slightly swollen nodes. Simple leaves are opposite; lanceolate, the largest are up to 10 cm long, with sharp apex, entire margin, base clasping the stem, green on the surface and light green on the back. Cymes terminal or axillary; pedicels slender, purple, with fine hairs; flowers small, white; 5 sepals, green; 5 petals, 2-lobed at apex, lobes oblong; 10 stamens; 1 pistil, ovary superior, 3 styles, slender. Capsule, oblong spherical. Flowering period is July to August.

【Habitat distribution】Grows on hillsides or grasslands. Distributed in Shaanxi, Guizhou and other places.

[Properties and flavors] Guiyang Folk Herbs: "pungent, neutral, non-toxic."

【Functions and indications】Regulating Qi, eliminating dampness, activating blood circulation, stopping dampness, eliminating accumulation and detoxifying. Treat stomachache, jaundice, blood in stool, irregular menstruation, indigestion in children, and carbuncle.

[Usage and Dosage] For internal use: decoct in water, 2-5 qian (1-2 liang for fresh); grind into powder or soak in wine. For external use: grind into powder and apply on skin.

[Additional prescription] ① Treat stomach bloating and pain: grind 5 fen to 1 qian of goose intestine root powder and swallow it with rice soup.
