[Original form] Deciduous shrub, 1 to 3 meters high. There are three thorns on the branch nodes, which are up to 2 cm long, trifurcated and thick; the internodes are densely covered with prickles or have no prickles. The leaves are nearly round or round, 2-2.5 cm long and 2-3 cm wide. The leaf blades are deeply 3-lobed, with truncate or slightly cordate bases, obtuse lobes at the tips, sparsely covered with short soft hairs on both sides and denser hairs in the vein axils, or almost glabrous; the petioles are 1-3 cm long, with sparse white soft hairs or short hairs, often mixed with capitate glandular hairs. 1 to 2 flowers are solitary at the end of branches, green or reddish; sepals are rectangular, with glandular soft hairs on the outside of sepals and sepal horns; petals are white, elliptical, and half the length of the calyx; stamens extend beyond the petals, with cup-shaped glands at the tip; ovary has glandular spines, and the style is longer than the stamens. The berries are glabrous or have sparse glandular hairs, are nearly spherical or ellipsoidal, up to 1.6 cm long, and purple. The flowering and fruiting period is from June to September.

[Habitat distribution] Growing under forests and in riverbank thickets. Distributed in Sichuan, Yunnan, Tibet and other places.
