[Original form]

Rubus spinulosa shrub, 1-2m tall. Old branches are reddish brown, glabrous, often covered with white powdery frost, and have hooked prickles. Petiole densely pubescent, sparsely covered with hooked fine prickles; stipules linear, pubescent; leaflets 3(-5), terminal leaflet rhombic, lateral leaflets oblong or elliptic, 3-4(5)cm long, 1.5-3cm wide, acute at apex, cuneate at base, with irregular serrations on margin, procumbent pubescent above, densely grayish-white pubescent below. 1-4 flowers; pedicels covered with long soft hairs and fine prickles; flower diameter 1.5-2cm; calyx up to 2cm long, densely covered with thorns and long soft hairs on the outside; petals nearly round, white, with very short claws at the base, shorter than sepals. The fruit is spherical, enclosed in the calyx, up to 1.5(2)cm in diameter, yellow in color, and glabrous. The flowering period is April-May, and the fruiting period is June-July.
