[Source] It is the whole herb with roots of Pteris cretica, a plant of the Pteridaceae family. Dig up in spring and winter, sun-dried or used fresh.

[Original form] Perennial herb, 30 to 50 cm high. The rhizome is short and erect, with clusters of numerous fleshy roots, which turn brown or dark brown when dry. The total stem length is 15 to 30 cm. The leaves are divided into nutrient leaves and spore leaves, which grow on the petiole. The nutrient leaves are broadly triangular, almost sessile, thinly leathery, 15-20 cm long, 25-30 cm wide, and 3-4 times pinnate; 2 times the pinnae are lanceolate-rectangular, several pairs; the terminal pinnae are lanceolate-rectangular, pinnately shallowly lobed, and the lobes are narrow and long. The spore leaves emerge from the base of the nutrient leaves, rising above the nutrient leaves. The sporangium spikes gather into panicles, 6 to 16 cm long, and are pinnately arranged in two times.

[Habitat distribution] Grown in the shade and wet places under forests in valleys. Distributed in Henan, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Zhejiang, Hubei, Sichuan, Yunnan and other places.
