Poria cocos, also known as polypore, grows in mountainous areas. It is commonly found in Anhui, Hubei, Henan, and Yunnan. Poria cocos is usually picked from July to September. It is mainly used for edema and diuresis. In fact, it has a very good regulating effect. It can also relieve restlessness, anxiety, palpitations, and insomnia. However, Poria cocos also has dosage and usage. Let's take a look at some relevant information about Fuling.

This product is the dried sclerotium of the Polyporaceae fungus Poria cocos. It parasitizes on the roots of Pinus densiflora or Pinus massoniana, 20-30 cm deep underground. It is mainly produced in Anhui, Hubei, Henan and Yunnan. The products in Yunnan are of better quality, while the outputs in Anhui and Hubei are relatively large.

Most of them are dug up from July to September. After digging, the mud and sand are removed, and they are piled up to "sweat". Then they are spread out to dry until the surface is dry. Then they are "sweated" again, and repeated several times until wrinkles appear. After most of the internal moisture is lost, they are dried in the shade and are called "Poria cocos pieces". Or fresh Poria cocos can be cut into different parts and dried in the shade, which are called "Poria cocos peels" and "Poria cocos blocks" respectively. Soak in water, wash, take out, steam thoroughly, slice, and dry into medicinal slices. Or spray the Poria cocos with clean water, let it soak for a while, add cinnabar powder and sprinkle it evenly, turn it over repeatedly so that the surface is covered with cinnabar powder, and then dry it. This is called "Zhu Poria cocos".
