[Original form] Terrestrial fern, plant height 15-40cm. The rhizome is short and erect, and together with the base of the petiole, it is densely covered with brown-yellow, awl-lanceolate scales; the leaves are thin leathery and clustered; the petiole is chestnut, 6-25cm long, rounded below, grooved above, and rarely scaled below; the leaf blade is pentagonal-ovate, triangular or broadly ovate-lanceolate, much shorter than the petiole, 4-18cm long, 4-12cm wide, and tripinnate; there are 6-8 pairs of pinnae, the largest pair at the base, ovate-triangular or ovate-lanceolate, 2-9cm long, 2.5-4.5cm wide, the petiole is 3-10mm long, and bipinnate; there are 5-6 pairs of pinnules, with short petioles with narrow wings, and once pinnate; the terminal pinnules are pinnate-cleft, and the lobes are elliptical; the veins are simple or forked. Sori borne at tips of veins in upper half of lobes; sori cap ± reflexed from substrate leaf margin, continuous or broken, entire.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing beside streams, beside fields or on rocks under mountain forests at an altitude of 50-1000m.

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat and detoxifies; promotes blood circulation and relieves blood stasis. Mainly used for dysentery and traumatic injuries

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoction, 15-30g. For external use: take appropriate amount and mash it for application.
