The leaves are alternate, elliptic-lanceolate, 3.5-8 cm long, 3-6 cm wide, gradually pointed at the apex, obtuse at the base, usually entire, with fine hairs on the surface; the petiole is short, about 5 mm, with fine hairs. Inflorescence capitula, terminal or axillary, about 1 cm in diameter, arranged in cymes; bracts in 4 rows, lanceolate, 1-5 mm long, outer ones shorter; flowers lavender; bisexual, corolla tubular, 5-lobed. Achenes, with numerous pappus.
