[Original form] Cardamom, a perennial evergreen herb, up to 3m tall. Petiole 5-10mm long; ligule 7-9mm long; leaf blade needle-shaped or oblong-lanceolate, 26-36cm long, 6-8cm wide, apex caudate-acuminate, base cuneate, glabrous on both sides. The spike inflorescence is ovate, 6-8cm long, and emerges from the rhizome; the peduncle is 5-7cm long, with scales arranged in a shingle-like manner at the base, the scales below are smaller and gradually become larger upwards; the inflorescence axis is densely covered with yellow hairs; the bracteoles are simple, 2-2.5cm long, brown, and cracked on one side to nearly the base; the calyx tube is 2.5cm long, two-lobed at the apex, and red; the corolla tube is nearly as long as the calyx tent, and the lobes are 2-3cm long, apricot yellow, with obvious red veins; the lip is obovate, 2.5-3cm long, apricot yellow, with purple veins and purple spots on the midrib, two-lobed at the apex, and wavy edges; the lateral reduced stamens are awl-shaped; the connective appendages are semicircular, about 5mm high and 10mm wide, and extend out on both sides to form wings.
