Flowers are unisexual, dioecious, gathered into spikes opposite the leaves, male inflorescence about 10cm long; peduncle 1-1.5cm long, glabrous; inflorescence axis hairy; bracts broadly obovate, peltate, ciliate; stamens 2, anther 2-chambered, filaments hypertrophy, about 1.2mm long; female inflorescence nearly equal in length to male inflorescence, elongated and thickened in fruiting period; inflorescence axis densely hairy; bracts obovate-oblong, attached to the inflorescence axis above, separated only by the edges, peltate, ciliate; ovary ovate, stigma 4, short pointed at apex. The berry is nearly spherical, about 5mm in diameter, and the stalk is nearly the same length as the fruit. Flowering period is from August to December.
