[Original morphology] The cap is 5-16cm wide, hemispherical, and later flat; the cap surface is dry, white or light yellow, with reddish-brown flat spotted scales, arranged in slightly concentric rings; the cap edge is mostly wavy. The flesh is thick, fleshy, white, tough, and has a mild, resinous smell. The gills are curved, slightly sparse, wide, unequal in length, white, and later light yellow; the edges of the gills are serrated and often cracked. The stipe is eccentric or mesogenetic, 2-10cm long, 0.7-2.5cm thick, cylindrical, the same color as the cap, dark brown at the base, often with scales or cilia, often in the shape of a rhizoid, and solid in the middle. The spore print is white, oval to rectangular, smooth, colorless, (8-13)μm×(4-4.5)μm.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown on rotten wood of coniferous trees, nearly in clusters in summer and autumn.
