【Original form】 Shrub, 0.5-1.3m high. The whole plant is hairless. Branchlets gray, lenticellate. Leaves are opposite; petiole 0.5-1cm long; leaf blade leathery, broadly elliptic to lanceolate, sometimes ovate, 5-10cm long, 2.5-6cm wide, apex acute or acuminate, base cuneate or broadly cuneate; midrib flat above, convex below, lateral veins 4-5 pairs. Inflorescence: racemes, 1-3 in axillary or in the axils of fallen leaves of twigs, peduncle 1.5-2cm long, with 4-8 flowers; pedicel 4-6mm long; bracts broadly ovate; 2 bracteoles, triangular, fused at the base; receptacle elliptical; epicalyx annular; corolla orange, 1-1.5cm long, crown tube expanded, with 6 edges, 6 lobes, lanceolate, about 4mm long, reflexed; style linear, stigma capitate. The berries are nearly spherical, about 8mm long and 7mm in diameter, orange in color, with smooth skin. The flowering period is from February to June, and the fruiting period is from May to August.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown in plains at an altitude of 20-1600m or in evergreen broad-leaved forests in the same place, parasitic on Fagaceae, Theaceae, Moraceae plants or Liquidambar, tung oil tree, fir and other plants.

【Functions and indications】 Dispel wind and relieve exterior symptoms; promote diuresis and reduce swelling. Mainly cold, fever, edema

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 9-15g.
