[Alias] Fine medicine, blue iron grass. Lotus root, tooth-filled medicine, wild spinach, and thin ox tongue slices.

[Source] It is the whole herb of Chrysanthemum vulgare , a plant of the Asteraceae family. Harvested in summer and autumn.

[Original form] Perennial herb. The basal leaves are clustered, oblanceolate, rounded at the apex, decurrent at the base, narrow and petiolate, entire, and densely hairy on both sides and edges; the stem leaves are alternate, sessile, and lanceolate. The flower stalk grows from the leaf cluster, is 14 cm high, and has fine hairs. The head inflorescence grows at the top of the stem; the bracts are green, linear-lanceolate; the ligulate corolla is narrow and long, with a rounded tip, undivided, usually light reddish purple; the tubular flowers are yellow, with 5 lobes at the tip, and white pappus.

[Habitat distribution] Growing on mountain grass slopes.

【Nature and flavor】 Bitter, neutral.

【Functions and indications】Replenishes weakness. Treats tuberculosis, bad breath, bleeding gums, and malignant leprosy.

[Usage and Dosage] For internal use: boil duck eggs and eat. For external use: grind into powder and sprinkle or mash fresh product and apply.

[Additional prescription] ① To replenish weakness: 50 cents each of fine Chinese medicine, Anemarrhena asphodeloides, Achyranthes bidentata, and Lily of the Valley of Light. Fried green-shell duck eggs.
