【English name】 Bark of Kwangsi Garcinia

[Alias] Guangxi long-leaf mountain bamboo.

[Source] Medicinal material source: The bark of the long-leafed mountain bamboo of the Garcinia family.

[Original form] Long-leaf mountain bamboo tree, 10-15m high. The trunk diameter is 10-15cm; the bark is rough, brown, with yellow sap, turning black in the sun, and the twigs are quadrangular. Simple leaves are opposite; petiole is 10-20mm long and about 2mm thick; leaf blade is thick leathery, oblong or elliptical, 7-13cm long, 3-6cm wide, with rounded or short acuminate tip, cuneate base, midrib slightly sunken above, raised below, lateral veins 28-30, obviously raised below. Flowers are heterosexual and dioecious; male inflorescence is terminal, with 3-6 flowers; pedicel is about 10mm long; male flower is solitary, pedicel is short, quadrangular; sepals are 4, petals are 4, membranous, obovate-broad-elliptic, 14-15mm long, wide at the apex, gradually narrowed at the base; stamens are numerous, in 4 bundles, stamen filaments are fused into blocks, anthers are numerous, longer than the reduced ovary, and the reduced ovary is quadrangular; female flower sepals are 4, petals are 4, ovary is cylindrical or oblong, about 10mm long, style is short, thick, and 8-lobed. The berry is broadly oval, about 3.5 cm long and 3 cm wide, smooth, with a sessile, flat, and finely fissured persistent stigma at the tip. The seeds are oblong or nearly cylindrical, 1.2-1.3cm long and 6-7mm in diameter. Fruiting period is September.
