【English name】 Swida oblonga (Wall) Sojak

[Source] Medicinal material source: The branches and leaves of the Cornus officinalis plant of the Cornaceae family.

[Original form] Green shrubs or trees, 2-16m high. The bark is gray-brown and smooth; branches over 2 years old have sparse lenticels and are densely covered with silky gray short hairs. Leaves are opposite; petiole is 6-19mm long, densely covered with gray silky hairs; leaf blade is leathery, oblong or elliptic-oblong, 6-13cm long, 1.6-4cm wide, acuminate at apex, cuneate at base, slightly recurved at margin; lateral veins are 4-5 pairs. The cyme is corymbose, terminal, 5-6.5cm long; the flowers are small, milky white; the calyx teeth are triangular-ovate, longer than the disk; the petals are oblong; there are 4 stamens; the ovary is obconical, with sparse short soft hairs. The drupe is spherical, black, and 5-6mm in diameter. The flowering period is September-October, and the fruiting period is May-June of the following year.

【Functions and indications】Detoxification and healing of sores. Mainly used for boils and furuncle; dermatitis
