[Original form] Short and stable fishtail palm, small yellow-brown (Yunnan). A clumping small tree, 5-8m high and 8-15cm in diameter. The stems have suckers, so they grow in clumps. They are green and covered with whitish felt-like hairs. The leaves are twice-lobed, 3-4m long, with the lower pinnae smaller than the upper pinnae, and the pinnae are wedge-shaped or obliquely wedge-shaped; the outer edge is straight, and more than 1/2 of the inner edge is solitary and curved into irregular teeth, and extends into a tail tip or short tip, light green, young leaves are thinner, and old leaves are nearly leathery; the petiole is covered with brown-black felt-like hairs; the edge of the leaf sheath has a reticular brown-black fiber. Flowers are unisexual and monoecious; 3 flowers are clustered, with female flowers between 2 male flowers; spathe and inflorescence are covered with chaff-like scales, the inflorescence is shorter, 25-40cm long, much branched, and drooping; male flower sepals are broadly obovate, about 2.5mm long, about 4mm wide, with entire apex and eyelashes; petals are leathery, oblong, about 11mm long, about 2.5mm wide; 15-20 stamens, filaments are almost absent; female flowers: sepals are broad, about 1/3 of the length of petals, with obtuse apex; petals are ovate-triangular, 3-4mm long; 3 degenerate male blue. The fruit is spherical, 1.2-1.5cm in diameter, purple-black, and contains one seed. The flowering period is from April to June, and the fruiting period is from August to November.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: It grows in tropical areas at an altitude of 1000m or below, and is commonly found in moist areas of dense forests in sunny valleys.
