Many names of Chinese medicinal herbs in traditional Chinese medicine will make ordinary people feel confused and unfamiliar, and Duhuo is one of them. Duhuo can play a good role in treating wind-cold-dampness and eliminating rheumatism. However, when using Duhuo to treat rheumatic diseases, you must be aware that Duhuo also contains certain toxins and must not be used in excess. Usage and dosage of Angelica dahurica

For internal use: decoct in water, 3-10g; or soak in wine; or make into pills or powder. For external use: take appropriate amount and decoct in water for washing.

Taboos of Duhuo

Those with yin deficiency and blood dryness should take it with caution.

1. "Bencao Jing Jizhu" says: Li Shi is the messenger.

2. Ben Jing Feng Yuan: It is forbidden to use for those who suffer from Qi and blood deficiency, body pain, and lower body weakness due to Yin deficiency. Among all kinds of empty winds, none of them are suitable for living alone.

Alone living options

1. Arthralgia caused by wind, cold and dampness. This product is pungent, dispersing, bitter and dry, with a fragrant, warm and unobstructed aroma. It is good at dispelling rheumatism and relieving arthralgia. It is the main medicine for treating rheumatism and arthralgia. It can be used for all arthralgia caused by wind, cold and dampness, no matter whether it is new or old. Because it mainly enters the kidney meridian and is good at descending, it is especially suitable for pain in the waist, knees, legs and feet joints caused by cold and dampness in the lower body. It is used to treat arthralgia caused by wind, cold and dampness, pain in muscles, waist, back, hands and feet, and is often used together with Angelica sinensis, Atractylodes macrocephala, Achyranthes bidentata, etc., such as Duhuo Decoction (Huoyou Xinshu); if used in combination with Viscum album, Eucommia ulmoides, ginseng, etc., it can treat arthralgia caused by long-term deficiency of the body, soreness of the waist and knees, and difficulty in flexing and extending the joints, such as Duhuo Jishe Decoction (Qianjin Fang).

2. Wind-cold and dampness syndrome. This product is pungent, dispersing, warming, bitter and dry, and can disperse wind, cold and dampness and relieve exterior symptoms. It is used to treat headaches, heaviness of the head, and pain all over the body caused by exogenous wind, cold and dampness. It is often used with Notopterygium wilfordii, Ligusticum chuanxiong, Saposhnikovia divaricata, etc., such as Qianghuo Shengshi Decoction (from "Discussion on the Discrimination of Neiwai Injuries").

3. Shaoyin headache. This product is good at entering the kidney meridian and searching for hidden wind. When combined with asarum, chuanxiong, etc., it can treat wind disturbing the kidney meridian and Shaoyin headache caused by wind hiding in the body, such as Duhuo Xixin Decoction (Zhengyinmaizhi).

4. Angelica dahurica and mulberry twig: Angelica dahurica can dispel wind, cold, relieve pain and relieve numbness; mulberry twig can eliminate rheumatism and open up the meridians throughout the limbs. The combination of the two enhances the efficacy of treating wind-cold-dampness arthritis, especially upper limb pain and periarthritis of the shoulder.
