[Source] Medicinal material source: The leaves of the plant Guandong Qiaolinghua of the Oleaceae family.

【Original form】 Shrub, 1-4m high. The bark is gray-brown. Branchlets, inflorescence axis, pedicels and calyx are all slightly puberulent, short pubescent or nearly glabrous. Simple leaves are opposite; petioles are 0.5-2cm long, glabrous or pubescent; leaf blades are ovate-elliptic, elliptical, oblong or even lanceolate, or obovate to nearly circular, 1.5-8cm long, 1-5cm wide, apex caudate-acuminate, often oblique, or nearly convex, leaf margins have eyelashes, dark green and glabrous above, light green below, pubescent, pubescent to glabrous. The panicle is erect, usually grown from lateral buds, rarely terminal, 5-16cm long and 3-5cm wide; the axis of the inflorescence is distinctly quadrangular; the calyx is 1.5-2mm long, truncated or with acute, acuminate or obtuse calyx teeth; the corolla is lavender, pink or white with rose shades, slightly funnel-shaped, 1-1.5cm long, the corolla tube is 0.7-1.1cm long, the lobes are spread out or reflexed, oblong or ovate, 2-5mm long, and the apex is slightly cuculate and beaked; there are 2 stamens, the anthers are lavender or purple, and are inserted 0-1mm from the throat of the corolla tube. The capsule is usually oblong, 0.7-2 cm long, 3-5 mm wide, with a sharp or pointed tip, or acuminate tip, and obvious lenticels. The flowering period is from May to July, and the fruiting period is from August to October.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: grows in hillside thickets, grasslands, under forests or rocky slopes.

[Pharmacological action] Syringa glycoside has a choleretic effect.
