Leaves are alternate, oblong or obovate-oblong, 6.5-12cm long, 2.5-4cm wide, base broadly cuneate, apex pointed or obtuse, entire, green above, glabrous, gray-green below, hairy, brown hairs on veins, pinnate veins, 5-8 lateral veins on each side; petiole 1-2cm long, brown hairs or nearly glabrous. The flowers are unisexual, dioecious, with 9 flowers arranged in axillary umbels, and the pedicels are covered with yellow-brown hairs; the flowers are yellow, the perianth is deeply lobed into 6 parts, the lobes are elliptical and glabrous; the male flowers have 9 stamens, 2-chambered anthers, and the petals are dehiscent, all introverted. The drupe is spherical, black, with a stalk 12-17mm long. Flowering period is April-May. Fruiting period is September-October.
