Xinjiang Tianshan Snow Lotus

Many people may have heard of Tianshang Xuelian from movies or TV. The snow lotus in the sky is a real plant, and the snow lotus in Tianshan Mountains in Xinjiang is particularly precious. It is precious because of its rarity and difficulty in picking. Tianshan Snow Lotus is a precious medicinal material in Chinese herbal medicine, which is very helpful in treating diseases and maintaining health.

The medical value of Tianshan Snow Lotus is beyond our imagination. It is very effective in treating some cardiovascular diseases. Xinjiang Tianshan Snow Lotus contains many substances that are helpful to people. It has the effect of slowing down cell aging, and it is quite obvious.

Tianshan Snow Lotus, also known as "Snow Lotus", is called "Tagi Yilis" in the local Uyghur language. It belongs to the Asteraceae family, Saussurea ovata, and is a perennial herb. A rare and precious Chinese herbal medicine unique to Xinjiang; it grows on the steep cliffs and in the ice-stained rock crevices of the Tianshan Mountains at an altitude of about 4,000 meters; the climate there is extremely cold, the snow does not melt all year round, and ordinary plants cannot survive at all. However, the snow lotus can defy the frost and snow and grow tenaciously in the severe cold of dozens of degrees below zero and the thin air and oxygen-deficient environment. This unique living habit and unique growth environment make it natural and rare, and create its unique pharmacological effects and magical medicinal value. People regard snow lotus as the "king of herbs" and "the best medicine."

In plant taxonomy, snow lotus is divided into two major categories: the snow lotus subgenus and the snow rabbit subgenus. There are 13 species of the subgenus Saussurea and 17 species of the subgenus Saussurea produced in Tibet, totaling 30 species. In addition to Tibet, snow lotus is mainly distributed in Xinjiang, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. It is also distributed in Sichuan and Yunnan.

It takes 6-8 years for snow lotus to grow from seed germination to sprouting and flowering; it blooms from July to August in the last year. The larger the flower, the better the quality. The roots, stems and leaves of snow lotus are rich in alkaloids, flavonoids, volatile oils, lactones, steroids, polysaccharides and reducing substances. Its flower buds are even richer in trace elements and amino acids. It has the effects of promoting blood circulation, dredge meridians, dispel cold and dampness, nourish yin and strengthen yang, and can cure all cold symptoms.

Snow lotus has biological characteristics that adapt to high mountain environments. Its leaves are extremely dense, shaped like long white cotton hairs, just like cotton balls, the cotton hairs are interwoven to form countless 'small chambers'. The gas in the room is difficult to exchange with the outside world. Under direct sunlight during the day, it absorbs more heat than the surrounding soil and air; at night, its temperature drops very slowly, so it can keep warm and prevent strong evaporation of water. The wool layer can protect the body from damage by strong radiation.

Modern scientific research has proven that Tianshan Snow Lotus is a precious medicinal material that contains a variety of ingredients that are beneficial to human functions. It can play an excellent conditioning and health-care role on the human body:

1. Very hot in nature. It has a good effect on low back and knee pain caused by rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis and kidney deficiency, sexual dysfunction, irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea and metrorrhagia in women.

Snow Lotus: Strengthens tendons and yang, promotes menstruation and activates blood circulation, warms the meridians and removes blood stasis, dispels cold and removes dampness.
