The efficacy and function of Panax notoginseng root

In daily life, we often use some medicines, some of which are Chinese medicinal materials that can have the effect of both medicine and food. Panax notoginseng is a very common Chinese medicine. Everyone knows that the main medicinal part of Panax notoginseng is its rhizome, but do you know the effects and functions of Panax notoginseng roots? Although the medicinal effect of Panax notoginseng roots is not strong, it is very similar to the medicinal effect of Panax notoginseng rhizomes.

The effects of Panax notoginseng root: dilate blood vessels, lower blood pressure, improve microcirculation, increase blood flow, prevent and treat ischemia and hypoxia of cardiovascular and cerebral tissues; promote the synthesis of protein, ribonucleic acid (RNA), and deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), and strengthen the body; promote blood cell metabolism and balance and regulate blood cells; bidirectionally regulate the central nervous system, improve brain power, and enhance learning and memory abilities; enhance the body's immune function and fight tumors; stop bleeding, promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis; protect the liver and fight inflammation; delay aging; bidirectionally regulate blood sugar, lower blood lipids and cholesterol, and inhibit arteriosclerosis.

The effects of Panax notoginseng root are the same as those of Panax notoginseng. It can be used raw or cooked, ground into powder, soaked in wine, cooked into soup, added to pork ribs, and cooked in chicken. It tastes fresh and slightly bitter, with a refreshing aftertaste. Long-term use has a two-way regulating effect on the human body, generating blood and activating blood circulation, dilating coronary arteries, increasing coronary blood volume, reducing myocardial oxygen consumption, and improving myocardial function. It is an excellent medicine for patients with angina pectoris and coronary heart disease. Long-term use can delay aging and achieve the state of beauty and rejuvenation. As early as the Ming Dynasty, Li Shizhen's Compendium of Materia Medica recorded that Panax notoginseng and ginseng belong to the same genus Panax in the Araliaceae family. In the middle of the Supplement to Compendium of Materia Medica by Zhao Xuemin in the Qing Dynasty, it was discussed that the active ingredients of Panax notoginseng are much higher than those of ginseng and American ginseng. Panax notoginseng is truly the king of ginseng and is an excellent tonic.
