Effects of Cyperus rotundus:

Regulate Qi and relieve depression, regulate menstruation and relieve pain. It is used for liver depression and qi stagnation, distension and pain in the chest, flanks, and abdomen, indigestion, irregular menstruation, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, abdominal pain due to cold hernia, and breast pain.
