The efficacy and function of Millettia yunnanensis

Yunnan chicken blood vine bracelet (KADSURAE CAULIS), this product is the dried vine stem of Kadsura interior ACSmith (Kadsura interior ACSmith), a plant of the Magnoliaceae family. Pick in autumn, remove branches, cut into slices and dry.

This product is round, oval or irregularly cut into slices with a diameter of 1.8~6.5cm. The surface is gray-brown, and the fallen cork is dark red and blue-purple. The cork is relatively thick, and the thick ones have most cracks and appear cracked; the thin ones have longitudinal grooves and are often accompanied by mosses and ferns. It is hard and not easy to break. The cross-section of the cortex is narrow, brown-red, and has strong chemical fiber properties. The wood is wide, light brown, and has many tiny pores. The pith is small, dark brown and fissure-shaped. It has a unique aroma and tastes slightly bitter and astringent. [1]

(1) This product is dark red powder. The embedded crystal fibers are in bundles or scattered, with a gradually pointed end, a diameter of 21~62μm, extremely thick walls, inconspicuous cell cavities, and many tiny calcium oxalate crystals embedded in the walls, some of which are prominent on the surface of the cell wall. The cells of the gemstones are irregular or oblong, with a diameter of 38 to 92 μm, thick walls, and many tiny calcium oxalate crystals embedded in the walls. Chemical fiber tracheids are bundled or scattered. The cork cells are polygonal in surface view, with vertical and thin anticlinal walls; they are square in side view. Metabolic body cells are oval, with large cell cavities and thin-walled cell fragments. The hose is a perforated hose with edges and is mostly crushed. Dark brown patches scattered throughout, reddish brown or dark brown.

(2) Take 0.5 g of the powdered product, add 10 ml of cyclohexane, and treat with ultrasound for 30 minutes. Filter, evaporate the filtrate to dryness, and add 0.5 ml of cyclohexane to dissolve the precipitate to prepare the test solution. Take another reference substance of isomorphic Schisandrae chinensis butylene and add cyclohexane to make an aqueous solution containing 1 mg per 1 ml. According to the thin layer chromatography experiment, 5 μl of the two aqueous solutions were taken and spotted on the same silicone rubber GF254 chromatography plate respectively, and then developed with petroleum ether (60~90°C)-butyl acetate (2:1) as the developing agent. The plate was removed, dried in the sun, and examined under an ultraviolet lamp (254nm). In the chromatographic analysis of the test sample, a black spot of the same color appears at the position opposite to the chromatographic analysis of the reference sample.

Function and main metallurgy

It promotes blood circulation, removes blood stasis, replenishes blood and Qi, regulates menstruation and relieves pain, relaxes muscles and tendons, activates collaterals and unclogs meridians. It is used for irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, numbness and paralysis, rheumatism and pain, and deficiency of Qi and blood.
