The role of Chinese medicine Gentiana macrophylla

Qinjiao is pungent, bitter and neutral. It enters the stomach, liver and gallbladder meridians. Main functions: dispel rheumatism, clear away dampness and heat, and relieve pain. It is used for muscle spasms, joint pains, evening hot flashes, and fever due to malnutrition in children. Preparation method: remove impurities, wash, soak, cut into thick slices, and dry in the sun. Dosage and Administration: For internal use: decoct in water, 5 to 10 grams, or soak in wine, or make into pills or powder. For external use: appropriate amount, grind into powder and sprinkle. Store in a ventilated and dry place. Note: The medicinal property is moist but not dry, and can be used regardless of whether the condition is cold and damp, damp-heat, or new or long-term.

In terms of compatibility, it is often used together with Saposhnikovia divaricata, Qianghuo, Duhuo, and Sangzhi. In addition, Qinjiao is often used together with anti-wind and antipyretic drugs to treat symptoms of external limb pain. For the treatment of damp-heat jaundice, it is often used in combination with Artemisia capillaris, Poria cocos, and Alisma orientalis. For the treatment of bone steaming and hot flashes, it is often used in combination with turtle shell, Anemarrhena asphodeloides, and Rehmannia root bark.

Clinical application: Treatment of joint pain, headache, toothache, etc.: Take 100 grams of Qinjiao, or 50 grams each of Qinjiao and Baizhi, add 1 gram of procaine, make 100 ml of injection solution, divide into packages, sterilize and set aside. Intramuscular injection 2 ml each time. It has been used by more than 2,000 people and has analgesic effects on body pain caused by cold, as well as rheumatic low back and leg pain caused by many years. Treatment of epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis: Make Qinjiao into an injection solution, each milliliter contains about 6 mg of the raw drug, 2 to 5 milliliters each time, 4 to 6 times a day, intramuscular injection. A total of 21 cases were treated and all were cured within 3 to 7 days of medication, with no sequelae occurring in any of them. In addition, 20 cases of acute icteric infectious hepatitis in children were treated with Qinjiao as the main ingredient, combined with syndrome differentiation and treatment and the addition of other drugs, and good results were achieved.
