Wangbuliuxing is also known as Wangbuliuxing and Mailancai. It has the functions of promoting blood circulation and menstruation, reducing swelling and relieving pain, and inducing lactation. It is mainly used to treat irregular menstruation, lack of milk, dystocia, carbuncles, furuncles and other symptoms, and is an important drug commonly used in clinical practice to promote lactation. It is widely distributed in Northeast, North China, East China, Northwest and Southwest my country. It is mainly produced in Hebei, Shandong, Liaoning, Heilongjiang and other places, with the largest output in Hebei Province.

It grows as a common weed in low mountains, wheat fields or near farmland in Shaanxi Province. The product is spherical, with a diameter of about 2mm. The surface is black, with a few reddish-brown, slightly shiny, with fine granular protrusions, a light-colored dot-shaped swelling navel and a shallow groove. The texture is hard, the cross section is grayish white, and horny. Odorless, slightly bitter taste.

The efficacy of Wangbuliuxing

1. Promote blood circulation and menstruation, stimulate labor and lactation, reduce swelling and heal sores. It is used to treat amenorrhea, milk blockage, dystocia, hematuria, carbuncle, and bleeding from wounds.

2. Promote menstruation and lactation: used for amenorrhea and lack of milk. Wangbuliuxing is used to treat excessive milk secretion but poor digestion; if the condition is due to insufficient milk secretion, it should be treated with medicine to replenish qi and blood.

3. Promote blood circulation and reduce swelling: used for blood stasis, lumps, sores, carbuncles and swelling.

The role of Wangbuliuxing

1. Wangbuliuxing tastes bitter and is neutral in nature; it enters the liver and stomach meridians; it enters the blood, goes straight but does not stay;

2. It has the effects of promoting blood circulation, dredge menstruation, promote lactation and eliminate carbuncle, and promote diuresis and relieve stranguria;

3. It is mainly used to treat dysmenorrhea due to blood stasis, amenorrhea, milk stagnation, mastitis, gonorrhea, and difficulty urinating.

4. It can also be used as material for ear acupuncture and pressing ear points.

Wang Bu Liu Xing's method of preparation

1. Dysmenorrhea and amenorrhea caused by stagnation of liver qi can be combined with Cyperus rotundus, Curcuma aromatica, etc. to promote the circulation of qi and activate blood circulation.

2. For those with liver qi stagnation resulting in milk blockage and breast pain, it can be used in combination with pangolin, superbus, etc.

3. For those with difficulty in urination, dripping and painful urination, it can be used in combination with stone thorn, talcum powder, and superbus.
