Other names: Yangxincao, Daoshanheidou (Fujian Folk Herbs), Ma Panax notoginseng, Bai Panax notoginseng, Jiaoheqi (Hunan Materia Medica), Qiyecao (Mindong Materia Medica), Yanhaidouqi, Huishengcao (Fujian Chinese Herbal Medicine), Xuecao (Fujian Jinjiang Chinese Herbal Medicine Handbook).

Nature and flavor: sour, flat.

① "Compendium of Materia Medica for Famine Relief": sour taste.

② "Fujian Folk Herbs": sour, flat, non-toxic.

Meridians: "Mindong Materia Medica" says: it enters the heart, liver and spleen meridians.

Functions and indications: Promote blood circulation, stop bleeding, calm the mind, promote dampness removal, reduce swelling, and detoxify. Treat injuries from falls, coughing up blood, vomiting blood, bloody stools, palpitations, and carbuncles.

① "Fujian Folk Herbs": Suppresses the liver and calms the mind, clears blood heat, and treats palpitations.

② "Hunan Pharmacopoeia": breaks blood, activates blood circulation, and cools blood.

Dosage and administration: For internal use: decoct in water, 1.5-3 qian (1-2 liang for fresh ones); for external use: mash and apply.

Note: "Mindong Materia Medica" says: People with weak stomach and loose stools should not use this product.

Additional recipe:

① Treat injuries from falls: 2 liang of whole fresh Feicai herb (3 to 4 qian of root). Boil in water, remove the residue, and mix with sweet wine. Take it with appropriate amount of fresh vegetable stems and leaves. Chop it into pieces, mash it, add a little wine lees, and apply it to the affected area. (Jiangxi "Handbook of Herbal Medicine")

②Treatment of hemoptysis caused by pulmonary tuberculosis: 1 to 2 taels of fresh radish leaves. Wash with cold boiled water, dry in the shade, and take in two to three doses. Take a few leaves each time and chew them in your mouth. Take with boiled water; or take seven pieces of fresh vegetable leaves and one or two ounces of rock sugar, chew in your mouth and drink with boiled water. ③ Treat coughing up blood, vomiting blood, epistaxis, and bleeding from the teeth: 3 liang of fresh whole herb of Fecundaceae. Decoction in water, or mash it and add boiling water to make juice. (Jiangxi "Handbook of Herbal Medicine")
