What are the effects and functions of the black-necked snake?

Snakes are animals that most people are afraid of. Many people feel creepy and panic when they see a snake. As we all know, many snakes are poisonous. Some are mildly poisonous, while others are highly poisonous. Severe bites may result in death. But despite this, we cannot say that all snakes are bad. Some snakes also have medicinal value, such as the black-necked snake. Let’s take a look at the effects and functions of the black-necked snake.

1. Anti-inflammatory effects

Intraperitoneal injection of the water decoction and alcohol extract of Agkistrodon davidianus to rats can inhibit agar-induced joint swelling and xylene-induced inflammation.

2. Sedative and analgesic effects

The preparation of black snake has a sedative effect, and its alcohol extract can inhibit the convulsions and electric seizures of mice caused by pentylenetetrazol. Different dosage forms and doses of black-necked snake have certain analgesic effects on thermal stimulation and chemical pain of different degrees.

3. Anti-Venom Effect

When mice that had been injected intraperitoneally or intravenously with five-step snake venom were given black-necked snake serum, the coagulation time returned to normal. Black-necked snake serum can counteract five-step snake venom.

4. toxicity

The symptoms of acute poisoning in mice by the decoction and alcohol extract of the black-necked snake are rigidity, fixed posture, preference for stillness and gathering in groups, and still response to external stimuli. After a few hours, respiratory depression, cyanosis and death occur.

5. Black-necked snake with wine. Take cleaned black-necked snake segments, add rice wine and mix well. After it is simmered thoroughly, put it in a pot and heat it over low heat. Fry until it turns slightly yellow, then take it out and let it cool. Store in a dry container, tightly closed, in a cool, dry place to prevent moth and mildew.

Although the black-necked snake is somewhat toxic, its efficacy and functions are undeniable. The black-necked snake can both hurt us and help us, so things sometimes have two sides. Don't just look at one aspect, we should look at things from a comprehensive perspective.
