How to preserve bird's nest

As we all know, bird's nest is precious and expensive. Bird's nests are not easy to preserve, but most people still stock up when buying them. The quality of products purchased from brand stores is better, the quality is guaranteed, and they are easier to preserve. But if you buy it from street vendors, the quality is not satisfactory and its shelf life is hard to say. If it is not stored properly, it will be wasted if it goes bad. Here, I have specially introduced several methods of preserving bird’s nests, hoping to provide you with some help.

1. Storage of dry goods:

After purchase, you can put it in the refrigerator's fresh-keeping or freezer compartment in a fresh-keeping box or sealed bag. Or after drying thoroughly (but not in direct sunlight), place it in a ventilated, cool and moisture-free place. If the bird's nest is found to be slightly moldy due to improper handling, you can wipe it clean with a toothbrush with a little water and let it air dry (remember not to expose it to the sun as it will seriously affect the quality). Note: If you find that the bird's nest is very humid, it is recommended to air dry it first even if you plan to store it in the refrigerator.

If the bird's nest has fermented and turned black, it should not be eaten because it has been corroded by bacteria and the nutrients in it have been lost. Bird's nest is a very precious food and must be well preserved.

2. Storage of wet goods (already soaked):

Put it in a clean container, seal it tightly, and prevent it from getting wet or getting greasy. It can be kept fresh or refrigerated for 7-15 days. It is best to use only as much as you need, and don't use too much at one time or too thoroughly. Because the processed bird's nest will cause a certain degree of nutrient loss depending on the length of storage time.

3. Concentrated preservation:

The bird's nest should be stored in the refrigerator before opening. Once opened, please consume it as soon as possible. If you do not finish it all at once, it should also be stored in the refrigerator. Note: Pay attention to the difference between the freezer and refrigerator.

The above are several methods for preserving bird’s nests. Generally speaking, as long as you preserve the bird’s nests in the correct way, you can achieve better results. However, I still recommend that you do not store too much bird’s nests at one time, so as to avoid unnecessary losses due to the deterioration of the bird’s nests due to improper storage. So buy the amount you need according to your needs.
