Regular consumption can calm the mind and nourish the kidney and yin: 4 liang of cypress seeds (steamed and dried to remove the shell), 3 liang of wolfberry (washed and dried with wine), 1 liang each of ophiopogon (remove the core), angelica (soaked in wine), calamus (remove the hair and wash), poria (remove the skin and core), 1 liang each of Scrophularia and Rehmannia (steamed with wine), 5 qian of liquorice (remove the rough skin). First steam the pine nuts and rehmannia seeds, then pound them into a paste in a stone tool. Grind the remaining herbs into powder and mix well. ② To restrain Yang Qi, stop night sweats, promote appetite, and reduce heat in the meridians: 2 liang each of new cypress seeds (grinded), pinellia tuber, oyster (calcinated in a sweet pot over a large fire, quenched seven times with vinegar, and roasted), ginseng (remove the stem), white atractylodes, ephedra root (roast over a slow fire, wipe off the sweat), schisandra chinensis, 1 liang each of pure bran (stir-fried over a slow fire). Grind the above eight ingredients into powder and make into pills with jujube meat as big as walnuts. Take 30 to 50 pills with rice water on an empty stomach, twice a day.
