Can Helicobacter pylori be cured by Chinese medicine?

More and more people are suffering from stomach diseases in life. In addition to being related to the patient's living habits and eating habits, stomach diseases are also related to infection with Helicobacter pylori. Helicobacter pylori is currently the only bacterium that can parasitize in the human stomach. When the bacterium multiplies in the stomach, it will destroy the gastric mucosa, causing people to suffer from gastritis, gastric ulcers, and even gastric cancer.

Can Helicobacter pylori be cured by Chinese medicine?

Yes, you can. According to many research reports, Chinese scholars have conducted anti-Helicobacter pylori inhibition tests on more than 300 traditional Chinese medicines with different properties and flavors. The results showed that more than 40 traditional Chinese medicines have inhibitory effects on Helicobacter pylori, of which 13 have more obvious effects. The 13 medicines are Polygonum cuspidatum, Clove, Coptis chinensis, Rhubarb, Scutellaria baicalensis, Phellodendron chinense, Cassia twig, Plantain chinensis, Ebony plum, Crataegus pinnatifida, sorghum ginger, Rose, Smilax glabra, as well as Viscum album, Atractylodes macrocephala and Sophora flavescens, which have moderate antibacterial effects.

There are also some studies that show that verbena and sanguisorba officinalis also have moderate antibacterial effects on Helicobacter pylori. Some studies in Japan have also shown that the Chinese patent medicines Huanglian Jiedu Decoction, Sini Decoction, Banxia Xiexin Decoction, Liujunzi Decoction, and Huanglian Decoction also have good antibacterial effects on Helicobacter pylori.

In general, traditional Chinese medicine can treat Helicobacter pylori.

Treatment options for Helicobacter pylori

There is already a very mature drug combination method for the treatment of Helicobacter pylori. The commonly used one now is quadruple therapy, namely proton pump inhibitors + bismuth + two antibiotics (amoxicillin, furazolidone or tetracycline). Generally, one course of treatment is two weeks, and the patient should be reviewed within one week after the end of the course of treatment.

In addition to taking medication, you also need to pay attention to your lifestyle and eating habits. In daily life, you should pay attention to thoroughly disinfect or replace oral cleaning utensils to avoid recurrence after treatment.

If one person is infected with Helicobacter pylori, does the whole family need to be treated?

In fact, first of all, I have to share with you a little medical knowledge. Although Helicobacter pylori is harmful, if there is too much of it in our body, it will cause peptic ulcers, lymphoma, chronic gastritis, and even in a very small number of people it will develop into gastric cancer, which is very scary. But there is a prerequisite, that is, there is too much of it.

If there is a very small amount of Helicobacter pylori, the harm to our body is actually minimal. Not only will it not cause stomach problems, it can also help us digest food in the stomach and avoid indigestion. Therefore, Helicobacter pylori is not necessarily more harmful. The only difference is whether its amount exceeds the standard. So if you are infected with Helicobacter pylori, if the amount is very small and does not cause symptoms, there is actually no need for sterilization, and there is no need to treat the whole family.
