What to do if Cordyceps sinensis gets moldy?

In daily life, we often develop and many things become moldy all of a sudden. For example, bread, chestnuts, oranges, biscuits and so on. In fact, in addition to some food that is prone to mold, Chinese herbal medicines are also very easy to mold. Especially when a large amount of medicines are stored for too long or in an improper storage method, they are more likely to mold. So everyone should know what to do if some things are moldy, for example, what to do if Cordyceps sinensis is moldy?

Cordyceps flowers only grow mold. If there is no color change, but it is damp, soft, and moldy, then it is fine (I learned this from a friend who makes dried seafood, but I have not consulted the leaders of the National Quality Inspection Bureau. I have a recipe to solve this problem. I don’t know if it is effective. I have not tried it. It was taught to me by my elders at home. Soak the moldy cordyceps flowers in low-alcohol shochu, then boil them in water and steam them for 10 minutes. Take them out and blow dry with a fan.

If the mold is not too serious, you can use alcohol to clean it, bake it, dry it in the sun, seal it and put it in the refrigerator. But it is better to discard it. Even if Cordyceps sinensis is moldy, as long as it is not rotten, it should be edible. It does not need to be washed. If there is a small amount at home, you can use a brush to clean it. What's more, it is just a little green on the surface, which looks like mold. If it is already moldy, eating it (only possibly) may cause cancer. Pay attention to the storage method of Cordyceps sinensis: put an appropriate amount of crushed Cortex Moutan in the container of Cordyceps sinensis, seal it, and store it in a dry place, which can effectively prevent insects. This product is best refrigerated in the refrigerator. Put it in a food plastic bag, seal it, and put it in the refrigerator. The refrigerator temperature should be controlled at -1℃~5℃. The above views are for reference only.

Cordyceps sinensis is actually a fungus, not a bug. After being dried, it is regarded as a kind of Chinese herbal medicine, which is of great value and expensive. Therefore, everyone still wants to know the question of what to do if Cordyceps sinensis becomes moldy. If you find that the mold is not particularly serious, just wash it and dry it and you can continue to use it. In normal times, we should also pay attention to the storage of various items.
