【Alias】 Gangtoba (Tibetan name)

[Source] The seeds of the cruciferous plant Mustard . The ripe fruits are harvested from August to September. Dry and sow the seeds.

[Original form] Perennial herb, 30 to 60 cm tall. The stem is erect and ribbed, and the whole plant is covered with forked, procumbent stiff hairs. Leaves are alternate, lanceolate, entire, and short-petiolate. The raceme is terminal; the flowers are large and yellow; there are 4 petals; there are 4 sepals; there is nectar in the center and sides of the base of the filaments. Siliques are long, angular, and have one row of seeds.

[Habitat distribution] Sandy land and sunny slopes. Distributed in Tibet and other places.

【Chemical composition】 The seeds contain glucosinolates. Glycosaminoglycans have been isolated from the whole herb.

【Pharmacological action】 ① Glucose sinaposide is a disaccharide glycoside, which has a cardiac glycoside-like effect on the electrocardiogram.

[Properties and flavors] "Commonly used Chinese herbal medicines in Tibet": "Cold in nature, sweet and astringent in taste."

【Functions and indications】 "Commonly used Chinese herbal medicines in Tibet": "It clears blood heat, relieves cough, and strengthens the heart. It can treat fever caused by consumptive tuberculosis, cough caused by tuberculosis, and lack of heart strength due to long-term illness. It can also detoxify botulism."

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 1 to 3 qian.
