【Original form】Epiphytic shrub. The stem is creeping, rooting everywhere and branching. The leaves are 3 in a row; with short petioles; the leaf blade is ovate-elliptic, thickly leathery, 2.5-6 cm long, 1-2.2 cm wide, obtuse at the apex, rounded or broadly cuneate at the base, with very sparse shallow teeth on the edge and red spots on the underside. Cymes, with long stalks; flowers sparse; bracts oblanceolate, leathery; calyx tube short, bell-shaped, 5-lobed, lobes narrowly lanceolate; corolla tubular, purple, swollen above the middle, 2-lipped at the apex, lobes rounded at the apex. The capsule is linear, 7 to 10 cm long, and splits into two lobes when mature. The seeds are small and brown.

[Habitat distribution] Growing on shady and moist rocks.

【Pharmacological action】 Antibacterial effect. The decoction has a certain antibacterial effect on Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus viridans, Catarrhalis, Pneumococcus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Salmonella typhi in test tube.

【Functions and indications】 Dispel wind and relieve cough, strengthen the spleen and eliminate accumulation. Treat colds, chronic bronchitis, leptospirosis, vomiting blood due to overwork, and infantile malnutrition.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 0.3-1 liang; or soak in wine. For external use: grind into powder and stir-fry for application or decoct in water for washing.

[Additional prescription] ① To treat cold, chill and fever: 1 liang of rock cowpea. Take it in decoction. If you have abdominal pain after delivery, stew it with wine and drink it.
