China Scenic Spots Association: Big Data Analysis Report on High-Quality Development of China's Scenic Spots in 2024

According to the statistical analysis of the data provider of this report, the monthly passenger flow trends of some national scenic spots are basically the same from January to December 2023. Among them, the peak monthly passenger flow of most scenic spots occurs during the summer vacation (July and August), which shows that students are the main source of tourists for scenic spots; followed by October and May, reflecting that holidays such as the "May Day Holiday" and the "National Day Golden Week" have a significant driving effect on passenger flow.

According to the statistical analysis of the data provider of this report, in this group of data, from January to December 2023, Qingcheng Mountain-Dujiangyan Scenic Area had the largest passenger flow, exceeding 10 million, followed by Taishan Scenic Area, Laoshan Scenic Area, Yulong Snow Mountain Scenic Area, Hengshan Scenic Area, Songshan Scenic Area and Emeishan Scenic Area, all exceeding 5 million. The top six scenic spots in terms of annual total passenger flow are all mountainous, which shows that they have great appeal to tourists.

According to the statistical analysis of the data provider of this report, from January to December 2023, first-tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, as well as new first-tier cities such as Chongqing, Chengdu, Wuhan, Hangzhou and Nanjing, are the main sources of tourists to national scenic spots, among which Shanghai ranks first among many sources. This shows that residents of first-tier cities and new first-tier cities have a stronger desire to travel to national scenic spots and are more active in travel.
