[Original form] A shrub of Sesame truncatum, up to 2m tall. Branchlets pubescent when young, later pubescent. Leaves are alternate; petioles are 3-10mm long and hairy; leaf blades are ovate or nearly circular, 6-15cm long, 4.5-8.5cm wide, with long acuminate tips, cordate bases, irregularly serrated edges, often shallowly lobed above the middle, sparsely stellate short hairs on the upper side, densely white stellate hairs on the lower side; 5-7 basal veins. Flowers are solitary in leaf axils or arranged in axillary cymes; pedicels are jointed, about 4mm long; calyx is 15-18mm long, densely covered with white stellate long hairs and mixed short hairs, 5-lobed, with lobes acute; 5 petals, white, unequal in size, spoon-shaped; 10 stamens, 5 staminodes; ovary with numerous nipple-like protrusions. The capsule is cylindrical, 2.5-3.5cm long, 10-12cm wide, with an acute tip, densely covered with long, wrinkled and curled hairs up to 4mm long. Seeds numerous, rhombus-shaped, about 2 mm long, 1 mm wide, with small longitudinal grooves. Flowering period is May-June.
