Fritillaria cirrhosa can replace Fritillaria cirrhosa

Fritillaria cirrhosa can replace Fritillaria cirrhosa

There are many Chinese herbal medicines in my country. Among them, Fritillaria thunbergii has the effect of relieving cough and reducing phlegm. Because it looks very similar to Fritillaria thunbergii, many people often mistakenly think that they belong to the same kind of Chinese herbal medicine when purchasing them. So let’s clearly distinguish between Fritillaria cirrhosa and Fritillaria thunbergii below!

1. Fritillaria thunbergii

Fritillaria thunbergii mainly grows on grassy slopes on mountaintops at an altitude of about 1,500 meters. Its surface is circular but slightly pointed, with an opening in the middle, as if there is a convex line. The growth cycle of Fritillaria thunbergii is shorter than that of Fritillaria cirrhosa, so it is mostly cultivated artificially. Fritillaria thunbergii is mainly used to treat bronchitis. If the body has this disease, then choosing Fritillaria thunbergii for treatment will have a very good effect.

2. Fritillaria cirrhosa

Fritillaria cirrhosa is generally produced in the Longshu area. Its surface color is milky white, and its shape is circular but a little pointed at the top, with an opening in the middle. The overall appearance is heart-shaped, similar to pumpkin seeds. The taste is a bit bitter, and it has the effect of quenching thirst, relieving cough and reducing phlegm. For people with dry throat, persistent cough, and sore throat caused by lung heat, they can eat some Fritillaria cirrhosa appropriately and make Fritillaria cirrhosa stewed with rock sugar and pear. In this way, the effect of expectoration and cough relief is very good.

The above is the difference between Fritillaria cirrhosa and Fritillaria thunbergii. Not only are their appearances different, but their functions and effects are also somewhat different. Therefore, when choosing, you must distinguish the difference in functions between the two in order to treat them accordingly.
