[Source] It is the bulb of the garlic of the Liliaceae family. Dig up in summer and autumn, remove mud and sand, and dry in the sun or in the shade.

[Original form] Perennial ophiopogon. It looks similar to garlic but smaller. The significant difference from garlic is that the bulb is as small as leek, with only one scale, instead of garlic which has multiple scales.

【Nature and flavor】 Spicy, warm.

[Entry into meridians] "Leigong Paozhi Yaoxing Jie": "enters the spleen and stomach meridians."

【Functions and indications】Warming the middle, descending the Qi, digesting food, killing insects. Treats vomiting and diarrhea, abdominal distension and pain, carbuncles, and poisonous insect bites.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 1.5 to 3 qian (0.5 to 1 liang of juice if fresh). For external use: decoction and wash or mash for application.

[Note] Do not take this medicine if you have Yin deficiency, hyperactivity of fire, daily diseases, or problems with your mouth, teeth, and throat.

[Additional prescription] ① Treat cholera with abdominal distension and pain, restlessness and shortness of breath without vomiting or diarrhea: chop 1 liter of garlic into small pieces, add 3 liters of water, boil and take 1 liter at once. (Filling the gap at the back of the elbow)
