The spike inflorescence is dense, 6-9cm long, drooping; the bracts are bright, brick red, densely ovate, hairy, about 2cm long; the bracteoles are ovate-lanceolate, slightly longer than the calyx; the calyx is 5-lobed, about 5mm long, hairy; the corolla is white, about 3cm long, extending beyond the bracts, the corolla tube is narrowly bell-shaped, the throat is short, the crown brim is two-lipped, the upper lip is erect, entire or slightly lobed, the lower lip is 3-lobed, with 3 rows of purple spots; there are 2 stamens, 2 anther cells, unequal heights, with a very short spur at the base; each locule of the ovary has 2 ovules, and the style is glabrous. Capsule club-shaped. The seeds are flattened on both sides and have no hairs.
