[Source] Medicinal material source: It is the root of the Umbelliferae plant.

[Original form] Perennial herb, 30-70cm tall. The root is conical, brown-yellow in surface, 5-15cm long, up to 1.5cm thick, with fine ring marks on the top. The stem is hollow with fine stripes, smooth and hairless except for the short rough hairs at the base of the spokes. Both basal and cauline leaves are two to three times ternate pinnate compound leaves; petiole base has a broad tubular sheath with membranous margin; leaf blade 10-15cm long, 7-15cm wide, with short rough hairs along veins on both sides, terminal segment 1-2.5cm long, 0.5-1.5cm wide, sessile or with base extending downward into a short petiole, with pinnate fissure margins; apical cauline leaves are simplified into sheath-like, with finely pinnate or 3-lobed leaves. Compound umbel; 1 or caducous involucral bract; 4-7 bracteoles, shorter than pedicel; petals white or slightly red, with short claws at base, obvious midrib; style short, forked. The fruit is oblong or ovate, brown when ripe, with 5 column ribs, 3-5 oil tubes in the grooves, and 6 oil tubes on the commissure. The flowering period is from June to August, and the fruiting period is from August to September.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing on hillsides, grasslands, under forests, river beaches and bushes at an altitude of 2700-4000m.

【Functions and indications】 Expel wind and dampness; dispel cold and relieve pain. It is used for wind-cold-dampness arthralgia; stomachache caused by cold; cold carbuncle in the waist; itchy skin

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 3-9g; or grind into powder. For external use: take appropriate amount and decoct in water for washing.
