【Original form】Large tree, up to 28m high. The bark is smooth, grayish white and falls off in large pieces. Young leaves are lanceolate, with glandular hairs, rounded base, and shield-shaped petioles; mature leaves are narrowly lanceolate, about 1 cm wide, 10-15 cm long, slightly curved, cuneate base, with black glandular dots on both sides, and a strong lemon smell when rubbed; transitional leaves are broadly lanceolate, 3-4 cm wide, 15-18 cm long, with a petiole 1.5-2 cm long. The axillary leaves of the panicle are broad-lanceolate, 3-4mm wide and have 2 ridges; the buds are long obovate, 6-7mm long; the calyx tube is 5mm long and 4mm wide at the top; the cap is 1.5mm long, slightly wider than the calyx tube, with a rounded tip and a small pointed process; the stamens are numerous, 6-7mm long, arranged in 2 rows, the anthers are elliptical, attached to the back, and the anther cells are parallel; the ovary is fused to the calyx tube. The capsule is pitcher-shaped, 1-1.2 cm long and 8-10 mm wide, with the petals hidden in the calyx tube. Flowering period is from April to September.
