It is used for the elderly with liver and kidney deficiency, weak spleen, fatigue, dizziness, tinnitus, and decreased appetite.

2. Low back pain

Take equal amounts of Cuscuta seeds (soaked in wine) and Eucommia ulmoides (fried), grind them into fine powder, and use yam paste to make small pills as big as sycamore seeds. Take 50 pills each time, with wine or salt soup.

3. Diabetes

Take the juice of Cuscuta australis and drink it at will.

4. Cook porridge

First boil the Cuscuta seeds in water to extract the juice, then add rice and cook into porridge, take it every morning and evening.

5. Make soup

30 grams each of dodder seed, yam, and astragalus, 10 grams each of cinnamon, fennel, angelica, and atractylodes, 300 grams of mutton, appropriate amount of ginger, 5 sections of green onion, 5 dates, a little salt, and boil the soup.

Cuscuta australis prescription

1. Treat kidney deficiency and coldness, heaviness of waist and legs, acute pain in navel and abdomen, and frequent urination

15 grams each of Cuscuta australis and Polygonum multiflorum, 0.3 grams each of Psoralea corylifolia, Saposhnikovia divaricata, and sulfur, 30 grams each of Dipsacus asper and Morinda officinalis, 0.1 grams of Asarum, and 60 grams of Sichuan pepper. Grind the above 9 herbs into powder, add refined honey to make pills as big as sycamore seeds. Take 30 pills each time with salt water.

2. Treat liver and kidney deficiency and blurred vision

150g of Cuscuta seeds (soaked in wine for 3 days, dried in the sun, and ground into powder), 30g of Plantago seeds, and 90g of Rehmannia root. Grind the above 3 herbs into powder, add refined honey to make pills as big as sycamore seeds. Take 30 pills each time with salt water.

It should be emphasized that the medicinal part of Cuscuta chinensis is the mature seeds of the Cuscuta chinensis plant of the Convolvulaceae family. When purchasing, pay attention to the reddish brown or brownish yellow seed coat of the dodder seeds, and the ones with full grains and no dust or impurities are preferred. It should be stored in a cool, ventilated and dry place to prevent moisture and moth.
