[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Equisetum arvense of the Equisetaceae family.

[Original form] Perennial herb, 20-60cm high. The rhizome is thin and dark brown. In spring, the stems of the sporangium spikes are brown, unbranched, and have whorled bell-shaped leaf sheaths. The leaf sheath teeth are membranous, reddish brown, with every 2-3 teeth connected into 3-4 wide teeth, which are permanent in an ovate triangle. The sporangium spike is oblong, stalked, blunt-headed, 1.2-208cm long; there are 6-9 sporangia under each peltate sporophyll; after the spores mature, many green whorls of branches grow on the stem. After the sporangium spike separates, the nutrient stem branches several times again, is green, and spreads out. The stem tip is flat, with 2 rows of thorn-like protrusions on the ridges, and the teeth of the branched leaf sheaths are narrowly lanceolate and spread out.
