[Source] Medicinal material source: The fruiting body of the fungus Coprinus comatus of the Agaricaceae family.

[Original morphology] The cap is 4-6cm wide, cylindrical in the young stage, and bell-shaped later, white, with light yellowish earth on the top and flat, light brown raised scales on the surface. The lid edge is prone to cracking. The flesh is thick and white. The gills are dense, free, white at first, and quickly turn black. The stipe is cylindrical and, if cultivated properly, can reach 30cm in height and 4cm in thickness. The petiole is hollow but thick. Basidiospores are dark brown, smooth, oval, (12.5-19.6) μm × (7.5-11) μm.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: In summer and autumn, it grows in groups or alone on grasslands, forests, roadsides or fields.

【Properties】 The cap is cylindrical or bell-shaped. 4-6cm in diameter, white, light khaki or dark khaki, with light brown flat and curled scales on the surface and longitudinal cracks on the edges. The flesh is thin and white. The gills are white or pink-gray. The stipe is 7-25cm long, about 2cm in diameter, off-white, and sometimes has a visible ring. It has a fragrant smell and a unique taste.

[Chemical composition] Contains trace elements such as aluminum, cadmium, lead, magnesium, calcium, silver, arsenic, gold, cesium, copper, mercury, selenium and zinc. Contains amino acids, urea, chitin, and melanin.

【Functions and indications】Nourishes the stomach; clears the mind; eliminates hemorrhoids. Loss of appetite; fatigue; hemorrhoids

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 30-60g; or make into pills or powder.
