Saposhnikovia root is a relatively common plant and also a plant with certain medicinal value. In traditional Chinese medicine, Saposhnikovia root is widely used. Using the root of Saposhnikovia divaricata in moderation can achieve the effects and functions of dispelling wind, relieving pain, and treating spasms. 1. Medicinal value

"Compendium of Materia Medica": Fangfeng is now found in Jingdong, Huai and Zhejiang counties. The roots are earthy yellow, similar to hollyhock roots; the stems and leaves are both green, with darker stems and lighter leaves, similar to Artemisia annua but shorter, and are tender purple at first, making them very delicious when used as vegetables. It blooms with small white flowers in May, which are clustered in the center to form a large bud, resembling dill flowers, but with fruits that are larger than coriander. The roots are harvested in February and October and dried quickly. Those grown in Guanzhong are picked in March and June, but they are light and weak and not as good as those grown in Qizhou. There is also stone windproof plant, which comes from Hezhong Prefecture. Its roots are like wormwood roots but yellow, and its leaves are green and white. It blooms in May and the roots are collected and dried in June. It can also treat headaches and dizziness. There is also a kind of windproof that grows in Song, Haojian and Jiangdong. Its seedlings grow in early spring and are red-purple when young. People there cook it as a vegetable, which tastes very good, but it is said to cause wind.

1. Dispel wind

Used for colds, fever, chills, headaches and body aches. As well as symptoms such as cold, wind-heat, red eyes, and sore throat. Fangfeng Jiebiao is good at dispelling wind. It can dispel wind-cold and wind-heat, and its effect is similar to that of Jingjie, so the two medicines are often used together.

2. Pain relief

Used for rheumatic pain. Saposhnikovia divaricata can eliminate rheumatism and relieve pain. It is often used in combination with Notopterygium wilfordii and Stephania tetrandra to treat rheumatism, arthralgia and other symptoms.

3. Antispasmodic

Used for tetanus, trismus, and opisthotonos. Fangfeng is used to treat tetanus and has the effect of dispelling wind and stopping convulsions, but it is often used together with other medicines such as Tiannanxing, Gastrodia elata, and Baifuzi. In addition, this product has hemostatic and antidiarrheal effects. If it is used for abdominal pain and diarrhea, it is often used together with white peony root, white atractylodes, tangerine peel, etc.; if it is used for bloody stools and metrorrhagia, it is generally used in the form of charcoal.

3. How to eat Fangfeng

1. Qianghuo Fangfeng Tea

Ingredients: 5g of Qianghuo, 3g of Fangfeng, 3g of Atractylodes, 3g of Chuanxiong, 3g of Angelica dahurica, and 5g of green tea.

Method: Use 500ml water to boil Qianghuo, Fangfeng, Atractylodes, Chuanxiong and Angelica dahurica. Brew green tea for 10 minutes and drink. It can also be brewed directly.

2. Fangfeng Qushi Congee

Ingredients: 20g of Saposhnikovia divaricata, 15g of Stephania tetrandra, 100g of polished rice, 50g of coix seed

Preparation method: decoct Fangfeng and Fangji in water to extract juice, add rice and coix seed to cook porridge, and eat it in several times.

3. Fried Saposhnikovia and Job's tears

Ingredients: 30 grams of coix seed and 10 grams of siler.

Preparation method: Wash the coix seeds, decoct them with the saposhnikovia divaricata, and take about 200 ml of the juice. Take 1 dose per day, take it all at once, use it for 1 week, and stop after 3 days before using it again.

4. Baizhu Fangfeng Decoction

Ingredients: Atractylodes macrocephala (4 qian), Saposhnikovia divaricata (8 qian), Tragacanthus chinensis (4 qian)

Preparation: Divide the above into two patches, add two cups of water to each patch, boil until 80% of the water is left, and take after meals.
