[Original form] Yellow Ruimu shrub or small tree, about 5m tall. Young branches and terminal buds sparsely pubescent. Simple leaves are alternate; leaves have short petioles; leaf blades are thick leathery, oblong-elliptical, 4.5-9cm long, 2-3cm wide, short-pointed at the apex, gradually narrowed at the base, with entire margins, rarely with slightly fine teeth in the upper half, densely pubescent when young, and later become glabrous. Flowers are bisexual, solitary in leaf axils; pedicels are slender, about 2 cm long, with appressed short hairs; sepals are 5, ovate-triangular, with appressed short hairs on the outside, nearly membranous margins, with fine glandular teeth and eyelashes; corolla lobes are 5, glabrous; stamens are about 25, anthers are densely covered with white soft hairs; ovary is superior, 3-chambered, with white soft hairs, and style is glabrous. The berry is nearly spherical, 7-8mm in diameter, with soft hairs or nearly hairless. The seeds are small, black and shiny.
