[Original form] Shrub or small tree, 2-5m high. Leaves are alternate; petiole is 5-10mm long; leaf blade is hard and papery, oblanceolate, gradually pointed at apex, cuneate at base, 9-19cm long, 2-5cm wide, entire; midrib is obvious on the back, lateral veins are 14-20 pairs. Inflorescence subumbel or raceme, with 6-12 flowers, axillary, pedicel 1.3-2cm long; sepals broadly ovate, about 2mm long, obtuse or rounded at the apex, nearly auricular at the base, folded against each other, with ciliate and glandular dots; petals broadly ovate, white, with purple-red glandular dots, slightly fused at the base, 5-7mm long, with glandular dots; stamens slightly shorter than petals, filaments short, less than 1/2 the length of anthers; anthers lanceolate, with acute to acuminate tips, and glandular dots on the back; pistil equal in length to petals. The fruit is oblate, about 7mm in diameter, purple-red or black. With dense glandular dots, persistent sepals reflexed. The flowering period is from February to April, and the fruiting period is from September to November.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in hillside thickets or under sparse forests at an altitude of 350-1400m.
