Flowers are unisexual and monoecious; male inflorescences are conical, obovate or cylindrical, 4-20mm long, 4-7mm wide, solitary in leaf axils. Male inflorescence spherical, solitary in leaf axils. The aggregate fruit is spherical, about 4cm in diameter, yellow, reddish-brown when dry, pubescent, and has many curved, cylindrical protrusions on the surface; there are 6 sepals when fruiting; the achene is spherical, about 1m in diameter, and the infructescence stalk is up to 2.5cm long and pubescent. The flowering period is from June to August, and the fruiting period is from August to December.
