The flowers are unisexual, monoecious, axillary, with rachis shorter than leaves, and 3-4 male flowers and 1 female flower, which are light pink; the male flower has 4 tepals, the outer 2 are larger, covered with cotton hairs on the back, and the inner 2 are rectangular, with many stamens; the female flower has 5 tepals, obliquely ovate, inferior ovary, covered with soft hairs; the stigma is thick. The capsule is 10-15 mm long and has narrow wings. Flowering period is from June to August.
