[Original form] Daibaicai, perennial herb, 25-50cm tall. The whole plant is densely covered with white cotton hairs. The stem is simple or branched at the base, and the hairs on the stem, pedicel and calyx often form a network-like shape. The basal leaves are thick and leathery; with long petioles, 3-6 cm long; the leaf blades are ovate-oblong, 7-13 cm long, obtuse at the apex, nearly circular or broadly cuneate at the base, with coarse serrations on the margins, or shallow lobes with teeth; the stem leaves are similar to the basal leaves, gradually shrinking upwards, and the top ones become bracts. The flowers have stalks 0.6-2cm long; bracteoles are linear and grow in the middle of the pedicels; calyx is 1-1.5cm long, with 5 calyx teeth, each with 3 deep lobes, and the lobes are 3-6mm long; corolla is purple-red, narrowly tubular, straight or slightly curved, 4cm long, covered with long soft hairs, the lobes of the upper lip are broadly ovate, and the lobes of the lower lip are oblong-ovate; stamens are 4, didyna, filaments are glabrous, and covered with long soft hairs at the attachment; ovary is ovate, glabrous, and the style is 2-lobed at the tip, and the lobes are nearly round. Capsule oblong. Seeds small, oblong. Flowering period is from July to September.
