【English name】 Angelica morii Hayara

[Source] Medicinal material source: The leaves of the Apiaceae plant Fushen.

[Original form] Perennial herb, 50-100cm high. The root is conical, slightly curved, about 10 cm long, and brown. The stem is erect, rarely branched, about 1 cm in diameter, smooth and hairless. Both basal and stem leaves are pinnately divided two to three times. The petiole of the basal leaf can be up to 20 cm long, with the base of the petiole swollen into a tubular sheath, clasping the stem, and hairy on the front and back sides; the leaf blade is ovate to ovate-lanceolate in outline, 3-lobed to 3-deeply lobed, acuminate at the apex, cuneate at the base, with notched serrations on the margin, pointed at the tooth end, ciliated, glabrous on both sides or with short hairs along the veins; the apical leaf is simplified into a short tubular sheath. Compound umbel; peduncle 5-10cm long, with short soft hairs; 1-2 bracts, caducous; 10-14 (-20) rays; 5-8 bracteoles, linear-lanceolate, with short hairs; umbel with 15-20 flowers; flowers yellow-white; calyx teeth small and inconspicuous; petals long ovate, glabrous; stylopodium short conical. The fruit is long oval. 4-5mm long, 3-4mm wide, glabrous, dorsal ridge linear, lateral wings with ridges, 1 oil tube in the groove, 2 oil tubes on the commissure. The flowering period is April-May, and the fruiting period is May-June.
