[Original morphology] Climbing shrub, 2-5m long, branchlets densely covered with tubercle lenticels, leaves alternate; petiole 5-8mm long, slightly narrowly winged on both sides; leaf blade hard papery to leathery, oblong to elliptical, 5-9cm long, 2.5-4cm wide, rarely 12cm long, 4.5cm wide, obtuse at apex, rarely acute, rounded or cuneate at base, entire or upper half with inconspicuous sparse serrations, margin and apex with dense glandular dots; 7-9 pairs of lateral veins. The inflorescence is axillary, 1-4cm long, ± pubescent or glandular pubescent; the pedicels are 1-2mm long and pubescent; the bracts are subulate, 1.5-2mm long, with ciliate and glandular dots; the flowers are 5-merous, rarely 4-merous, about 2mm long; the sepals are triangular, ± ciliate, ± pubescent outside, with glandular dots; the petals are white or light green, separate, elliptic-lanceolate or oblong-ovate to obovate, with obvious glandular dots, with sparse ciliate, and densely papillate inside, especially at the base; the stamens are degenerate in female flowers, inserted at V2 of the petals, longer than the petals in male flowers, inserted at 1/4 of the petals, the filaments are ± pubescent at the base, the anthers are broadly ovate or ovate, with glandular dots on the back; the pistil is degenerate in male flowers, not exceeding 1/2 of the petals, and longer in female flowers; the ovary is ovate, glabrous, and after the petals fall off, the style is elongated, and the stigma is capitate or shallowly lobed.
